Coimbatore: In an impassioned speech backing Modi's governance thus far as Prime Minister at the campaign rally in Sivanandha Colony in Coimbatore, both C P Radhakrishnan, BJP's electoral candidate for Coimbatore constituency and Minister S P Velumani addressed the crowds saying that only Modi can provide the nation with a stable government.
"The opposition keeps talking about GST. While the past Governments looked at businesses as second-hand citizens, Modi was the only Prime Minister changed the entire tax system of the nation, overnight. As requested by the people and business entities, many amendments were brought in GST. For job workers in engineering, GST will be brought down from 18 percent to 5 percent when PM Modi comes back to power. India will become a super power if Modi is elected as PM," said C P Radhakrishnan.
Minister S P Velumani remarked, "The moment CPR's name was announced, success was assured. Only our Prime Minister Modi can give us a stable government. It is pathetic that the Congress-DMK alliance cannot even name their PM candidate, till now. Under the 'housing for all' scheme, Coimbatore benefited more than other cities. People should recall the regime of the DMK- Congress when welfare and development schemes hardly moved an inch. If voted to power, the Godavari river will be interlinked with the Cauvery river." The Minister also added that shortly, the city of Coimbatore will gain various schemes like new flyovers and metro trains.
